TEXTMODE ART (2015)

Textmode-Grafiken werden mit der Tastatur und dem entsprechenden Zeichensatz von unterschiedlichen Computern wie dem C64, Amiga und IBM PC erstellt. Es werden Schriftzüge oder Figuren aus (Back-)Slashes, Binde- und Unterstrichen, Blockformen und ähnlichen Symbolen aus dem Zeichensatz konstruiert.
Zusammen mit internationalen Künstler/innen und Gruppen haben wir eine Vielfalt an Textmode-Grafiken aus unterschiedlichen Stilrichtungen zusammengestellt. Angefangen mit der ältesten Technologie von Teletext, C64 Petscii, Amiga Ascii, PC Ansi, bis zur Weiterentwicklung eines individuellen Zeichensatzes und der Einleitung von anderen Medienformaten.
Die Kunstwerke werden in ihrer ursprünglichen Form und Gestalt als digitale Prints und auf Monitoren präsentiert. Eine Reise durch die Geschichte von Textmode-Grafiken, bis zu Veröffentlichungen im Bereich von Print Publikationen, Visuals, Textilien und Malerei.

Textmode-graphics are created using the keyboard and the respective charsets on different computers such as the C64, Amiga and IBM PC. Written logos or characters are created using (back)-slashes, hyphen, underlines, blockshapes and other similar symbols found in the charsets.
Together with international artists and groups we have compiled a variety of textmode-graphics from different areas of style.
Beginning with the oldest technologies such as Teletext, C64 Petscii, Amiga Ascii, PC Ansi, evolving to customized charsets and introducing other media formats.
The artworks will be displayed on digital prints and monitors to showcase their original shapes and forms. A journey through textmode art history, that leads to appearances in print publications, animated visuals, clothing and paintings.
